What's in a name?

I've been creating with fabric since I was about 4 years old.......

I still recall the absolute joy of receiving my very first pattern for doll dresses from my mother, who taught me my first stitches despite her understandable hesitation to allow a preschooler to play with needles!

Thus my love of creating clothing for dolls was born. 

I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Clothing, Textiles

and Related Arts with a minor in Historic Costume.  Along the way

I've been constructing and designing wedding gowns,

theatrical costumes and apparel professionally

for over 30 years, in addition to silk fabric painting and various

other creative endeavors.

The "red thread" part of the journey began when our 2 daughters

came to us from China and we found that indeed our hearts were

joined to theirs by that invisible thread. 

It is in part because of seeing the joy and fun that they experience

with their own dolls that I have gone back

to the beginning--creating clothing once again for dolls.

It is my hope that you will enjoy these gowns

as much as I enjoy creating them!
